Meet Lily! 🐅 (tiger lily, get it 😉)
This gorgeous brindle girl is settling into foster life and showing us every day what an incredible girl she truly is. Shes more than just beauty— she’s brains, too!
Lily is potty trained, crate trained and dog friendly! Shes a real gem 💎
If you know Great Danes, you know ‘Velcro’ Danes, and boy does Lily wear that title proudly. She doesn’t just want to be near you… she wants to be on you. Obviously she thinks she’s much smaller than she is 😂
She’ll follow you everywhere with her gentle and loving presence. She enjoys sniffing and exploring and hasn’t shown any interest in getting into mischief so far —fortunately! lol
She’s also wonderfully easygoing — doorbells and normal household noises don’t bother her at all. The only thing she’s not sure about? The vacuum (honestly, same, girl).
Lily will be ready for her forever home soon! If you’re interested in potentially meeting Lily, please email us at countryacresrescuesc@gmail.com
King is a new resident of Country Acres. He was set to be euthanized at the shelter because he was extremely fearful of men; we’ve yet to find that extreme fear since he’s been with us. He’s such a gentle giant and he’d be a great addition to any family. He is scheduled for neuter and up to date on all vaccines.
Showing signs of being both dog and cat friendly.
Amazing on a leash.
Thinks he’s a lapdog.
Loves all the affection!
Knows “no” and “stay.”
Loves lounging around.
Needs to gain some weight. Will require food and water bowl stand no less than 15 inches high.
Adoption fee: $175

Whitney was used for breeding and then dumped behind a church in Charlotte. She was severely emaciated and had puppies within four weeks of being dumped. Poor girl was trapped by ACC and rescued by Country Acres. She came out of the shelter sweet as can be. Two hours post shelter freedom, she was rushed to the ER vet suffering from GDV. Surgery was performed and she was discharged from the ER 24 hours ahead of schedule due to her incredible resilience. Whitney has not been interested in other dogs, and appears dog friendly. She is a large gal and needs to gain some healthy weight. She is working through separation anxiety at her current foster home; but how can we blame her? She was used and abused and then dumped like trash. Can you show her that humans aren’t all bad and they can truly love a dog FOREVER? Adopt Whitney!
4 years old
Potty trained
Mostly crate trained (barks a bit at first)
Spayed
UTD on vaccines
Dog friendly
Loves humans
Adoption Fee: $175
Meet Cody
1 year old | Carolina Dog | Female | 47 lbs
Charlotte, NC
-Up-to-date on vaccines
-Heartworm negative
Spay scheduled for February. She can go to a foster-to-adopt home anytime before spay. :)
In mid-July, Cody’s journey began when the owner of Dogs All Day found her living in the wild: malnourished, terrified, and fighting to survive. It took four months of consistent feeding, patience, and trust-building before she could finally be safely caught. Since then, Cody has made an incredible transformation.
She is fully vetted and fostered at Dogs All Day in Charlotte, NC, Cody has adjusted to a structured daycare and boarding environment. With slow, thoughtful introductions, she has successfully joined full-day play groups and continues to gain confidence every day. She is crate trained, dog-social with proper introductions, and thrives in routines that offer clear expectations and consistency.
Cody can be a little skeptical of new things at first which is completely understandable for a dog who once had to survive on her own but once she feels safe, her personality truly shines. She has opened up tremendously and continues to show how resilient and adaptable she is. She’s also very intelligent and picks up on routines quickly, so continued training should come easily with consistency and positive reinforcement.
We’d recommend a single-dog home, or a home with adopters who are experienced in proper introductions and committed to following the 3-3-3 rule to set everyone up for success. Cody would do best in a house with a fenced yard, where she can continue building confidence in a calm, supportive environment.
A big bonus: Cody is already settled and comfortable in a daycare and boarding setting at Dogs All Day, giving her future family an easy, familiar option for daycare days or travel needs! This is something many adopted dogs need time to adjust to, but Cody already has down.
Cody has come so far, and now she’s ready for the final piece of her journey, a forever home of her own.

Our first pull from Gaston ACC. Found as a stray after being hit by a car. Sweet, loving, patient through so much trauma.
His injuries led to hind-leg amputation, then infection and tissue loss. He’s been hospitalized almost a week. We’re fighting for him HARD and won’t stop caring for this boy.
GO GASTON. 🤍

About Me
ICY is a great dog. He is high energy — he loves to run and play! He is a great guard dog! He alerts to everything before anyone and even any other dog hears. Icy has a little quirk that will make you just melt! When he runs, he kind of hops. You will fall in love with his unique way of running. Some things will scare him and he will take off running to find a safe place like his crate or under a table.

Leash trained: Not yet

Ideal Home
Icy would love a very active and adventurous family or a fenced in yard so he can run and sniff all over! He has been great when left out for a few hours alone. He doesn’t need a home where there is always someone there, but he does sleep beside his people while they are busy at their desk.
Why You’ll Love Me
You will love Icy because he is so playful, affectionate, and handsome!

About Me
My name is Chilly, and I was rescued during the snow storm with 7 of my siblings. Overall, I’m pretty chill for a puppy. If my human is busy, I’ll play with my toys by myself.
Training & Manners
Crate trained: Yes! And I sleep through the night.
Potty trained: Yes
Leash trained: Yes, but I sometimes get scared by dogs barking or big trucks/loud cars. I am able to recover and continue on the walk and I’m still learning my leash manners.
Basic commands: we have Sit and Wait pretty well!
Good With
• Dogs: Yes!
• Cats: Unknown
• Kids: Yes/Older kids ( young kids is Unknown)
Ideal Home
I think Chilly would be a good fit for a house with an older dog or as the lone wolf of the house. He loves to snuggle with a human or in a cuddle puddle with other dogs. He is still a puppy and will need some additional training, but I promise he’s wicked smart and learns very quickly.
Why You’ll Love Me
This sweet 5‑month‑old pup is the total package. He’s already crate trained and potty trained, so the hardest part is done! Though he’s a little shy at first, he’s quickly coming out of his shell and showing his fun, playful personality, especially when he’s playing bitey‑face with other dogs. He’s incredibly smart, adapts quickly, and is eager to learn. Once he trusts you, he becomes the most loyal little cuddle buddy. He’s the perfect mix of playful puppy and loving companion, just waiting for his forever home. Plus he has the best eyeliner

About Me
Milo is a gentle giant with the sweetest heart. This handsome Great Dane is fully house trained, well-mannered and truly understands the rules of the house. If you drop food on the floor, he’ll look at you like a perfect gentleman and wait—he won’t touch it unless invited.

Potty trained: Yes
Leash trained: Yes
Basic commands: Yes
Good With
• Dogs: Yes, with slow intros

Milo does best in a home where he has human companionship for most of the day. He bonds deeply with his people and can become anxious if left alone for long stretches. He prefers not to be crated and behaves well. Food within reach will be snacked on, though so be sure to secure that away. He is great with kids and does well with other dogs when slow introductions are followed. Milo is looking for a home where he can be part of the family—not just in it, but right in the middle of it. If you’re looking for a loyal shadow, a couch companion, and a soft-hearted best friend, Milo might be your guy!
Why You’ll Love Me
One of Milo’s favorite things in the world is carrying around his beloved stuffies. Whether he’s greeting you at the door or settling in for the evening, there’s usually a plush toy handing from his mouth.
